10 TIPS TO MARKET YOUR PROPERTY LIKE A PROFESSIONAL
1. CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING - Placing ads in the classified sections of local
newspapers, both in print and online (if available) is a terrific way to let buyers know
that your property is for sale. Start with the location, list the number of bedrooms &
bathrooms, add details about the property by using colorful words and phrases. Don't
forget the to always include the price, your contact information and the dates/times
of any scheduled open houses.
2. SCHEDULE AN OPEN HOUSE - This is a GREAT way to bring buyer's through your
property. You should plan on a few hours on a Saturday or Sunday, maybe even a
weekday evening where you will be available to give prospective buyer's a tour of your
property without an appointment. Don't forget FIRST IMPRESSIONS are very important!
3. DIRECT MAIL - This is a GREAT way to let prospective buyer's know that your property
is available for sale. In addition to the neighbors, you could add local real estate
agents, mortgage brokers and businesses to your list for maximum exposure.
4. REAL ESTATE PUBLICATIONS - Generally, these are available for FREE at restaurants
convenience stores and the supermarket. A GREAT place to advertise your property.
5. CORRUGATED SIGNS - Your property MUST have a sign which lets people who drive by
know that the property is "FOR SALE". Don't forget your phone number!
6. WORD OF MOUTH - This is easy and FREE! Tell everyone your property is "FOR SALE"
7. HANDOUTS AND FLYERS - Create colorful, eye catching, advertising pieces for your
property. Use them as direct mail, hand them to buyers at the open house, tack them on
bulletin boards, give them to anyone and everyone. Don't forget people LOVE pictures!
8. WEBSITES - PEOPLE USE THE INTERNET! This is a very valuable resource, USE IT!
9. MULTIPLE LISTING SERVICE - THIS IS A VERY VALUABLE RESOURCE. Real Estate
Agents use this service daily to find listings that match their clients needs. Your propert
can be listed in the MLS even if you are selling it yourself, offering agents a commission

10. REAL ESTATE AGENTS - Yes, your could hire a professional to market your property.
